About Us
Selá is a beautifully converted farm house from 1936, perfectly positioned right by the sea in Eyjafjordur, north Iceland. Since 2016, we have been operating as a guest house and artist retreat, welcoming intrepid travellers and artists seeking inspiration at our Iceland lakeview retreat. We have always endeavored to keep the old soul of the farm alive through upcycling and restoration.
The Farm
In 2013, Pétur Einarsson and Svanfríður Ingvadottir purchased what is now known as the Iceland lakeview retreat. Peter & Swany had spent most of their lives traveling around the globe, but upon returning to Iceland, they decided to settle down in a quiet spot by the sea. Their dream is to transform Selá into a residence for creative and compassionate individuals, all those who create from their imagination, and they have named their venture The Laboratory of Mind and Imagination.
